Welded / Mild Steel

I made these miniature golf carts to practice TIG welding. I designed the individual sheet metal parts in SolidWorks before plasma cutting the sheet metal parts. Doing multiple iterations of the golf carts let me figure out which welds should be done first and try different fit-up methods. Also, playing with different rod diameters was a fun way to vary the composition.

Although it’s not perfect, projects like these have been a great way to learn more about how to design weldments and are great motivation to practice TIG welding.
